Alligator Shears

Hydraulic alligator shear to cut bulky scrap, profiles and cable to charge size

Overview

What it is and where it works

A shear with a hinged upper jaw that closes like an alligator's mouth to cut long or bulky scrap, profiles, bars and cable into pieces that fit the furnace door or baler chamber. It is the basic sizing machine in scrap yards and in recycling plants that receive mixed or oversize material.

Cutting force Approx. 50 to 120 t, blades up to 36 in (915 mm) Sized to your plant: tell us your target output.
Drive
Mechanical or hydraulic; hydraulic units with variable speed pumps for fast cycles

Buyer questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose the tonnage?

Tonnage depends on the thickest section and the material you cut; send the largest piece you plan to shear and we match the cutting force and blade length.

Are the blades replaceable?

Yes, blades are wear parts; many designs use reversible, regrindable blades. We can include a spare set with the machine.
