Ceramic Fiber Paper

Thin ceramic fibre paper for gaskets, expansion joints and launder back-up

Overview

What it is and where it works

Thin, flexible ceramic fibre sheet made from alumina-silicate fibres with minimal binder, used where a thin insulating layer or seal is needed: gaskets, expansion joints, parting layers and back-up lining for metal troughs. The binder burns out in service. We supply rolls and pre-cut sheets.

Buyer questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Can paper be in direct contact with molten aluminium?

It is mainly used as a gasket and back-up layer; direct metal contact depends on the grade and position. Tell us the application and we confirm suitability.

Why does it smoke at first heat-up?

The organic binder burns out cleanly in service, which is normal on the first heating.
