Overview
What it is and where it works
A continuous caster where a chain of moulds passes under a metal distributor, cools the ingots with water, air or both, and knocks them out at the end for conveying to stacking. It is the standard way secondary smelters and casthouses turn liquid metal into remelt ingot, and it is fed from a holding furnace by launder.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the ingot size later?
Ingot size is set by the moulds; changing it means a new mould set and possibly adjusting the distributor. Tell us all the sizes you plan to cast before we quote.
Is the line delivered with a stacker?
The caster delivers ingots to a conveyor; stacking can be manual or by a stacking robot, quoted separately. See our Ingot Stacking Robot.
