Overview

What it is and where it works

Aluminized coats, jackets, trousers, aprons, gloves, hoods, face shields and safety footwear for operators who tap, skim and pour molten aluminium. In die casting and foundry work, clothing is rated to EN ISO 11612 with code D1 for molten aluminium splash, together with A1 (limited flame spread), B (convective heat) and C (radiant heat). Buyer questions

Frequently Asked Questions

What D level do I need for aluminium pouring?

D1 is the usual level in die casting and foundry work, together with A1, B and C. Higher D levels exist for heavier splash; your safety department sets the level from the risk assessment of each task.

Does a D3 garment prevent all burns?

No. The test measures when the fabric holes, and a wearer can still be burned through fabric that does not burn or crumble.
