Industrial Extraction Fan

Centrifugal fans for fume extraction, sized to your duct and filter pressure

Overview

What it is and where it works

Centrifugal fans that pull fume and dust from hoods and furnaces through ductwork and the dust collector. Selection is made on the airflow needed at the hoods and the static pressure of the whole system, including a loaded filter, with materials chosen for gas temperature and abrasive dust. This item is the main draft fan of a dust collector; size and airflow are tailor-made for each project.

Fan type
Centrifugal fans are standard for ducted extraction; axial fans only for low pressure
Sizing

Where It Is Used

  • Main draft fan for furnace fume collectors
  • Extraction from hoods at charging and pouring
  • Dust extraction at scrap preparation
  • Replacing worn or undersized fans

  1. Airflow required (m³/h)
  2. Total static pressure of the system (duct plus filter)
  3. Gas temperature and dust type at the fan
  4. Power supply and whether a variable speed drive is wanted
  5. Position: before or after the filter, indoor or outdoor

Buyer questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my current fan not pulling enough?

The most common cause is a fan chosen on free-air rating; through a loaded baghouse it delivers much less. We size on the real system pressure.

Does gas temperature change the selection?

Yes, hot fume may need heat-resistant materials or cooling before the fan, and abrasive dust needs wear-resistant blades and housing.
